lyrics
The pieces on their own
You came out swinging, I waited
Are stronger than the whole
You came for blood, I was patient
We’ll take them on alone
You were my anger, my anchor
We're big enough I know
You took my fears, and made them all
But if we back down
Our eyes are open, we’re golden
That’s all she wrote
Our eyes are open now, they are open now
Closing in on you
Watching every move
Say it if it’s true
Waiting for the proof
I know this once I’m right
Hey come on tick tock it’s time..
The people left alone
I took advantage, we managed
Will do just as they’re told
You came for help, we held on
Please don’t back down
You were my mirror, my motive, devoted
Word won’t get ‘round
But what you came for was stolen
If we fall out
Our eyes are open, we’re golden
That’s all she wrote
Our eyes are open now, they are open now
I was so lucky to make these songs with friends from Canada and Iceland: Laura Leif, Prins Polo, Benni Hemm Hemm, Clinton St. John and Samantha Savage Smith. We had an international adventure indeed! woodpigeon
A project shared between myself and Kathryn Calder, Frontperson is something I'm terribly proud of. Singing and playing with Kathryn is such a joy, and I can't wait to make our next record together. woodpigeon
Laura Leif is such an inspiration and also a great friend. There's few people I enjoy playing or making music with, and this album is a true beauty I keep coming back to. Love! woodpigeon
